General Management
The general day to day management of the WRA is undertaken by the Managing Director with support from three major divisions; Technical Services, Administration & Human Resources & Finance & Accounts.
Planning & Investigation Unit
This unit is responsible for updating the Water Resources Master Plan which guides water resources development on a national level. They review and provide commentary on all major projects to determine their impact on water resources and propose mitigation strategies.
Resource Monitoring Unit
This unit monitors the quantity and quality of Jamaica’s surface water and groundwater systems.
Permits & Licenses Unit
This unit issues permits to drill wells and licences to persons who wish to use or abstract water.
Computer and GIS Unit
This unit maintains the network of computers, electronic databases which is the backbone for our geographic information system.
Human Resources
Unit is responsible for setting the strategic direction for all human resources functions, initiatives, policies systems and processes to support the overall strategic objectives of the organization.
Information & Documentation Unit
This unit is responsible for raising public awareness of water resources status, protection and conservation needs. It Provides information and facilitates research on hydrology, environment and water quality.
Office Services
This unit is responsible for creating a working environment conducive to the health and well being of employees.
Finance & Accounts
This Department garners the necessary funds required to accomplish our goals within our stated deadlines.
